Zakia Soma co-founder of BMMA said that all 50K women who have written petition they are are against triple talaq system according to this system abolition the right the power of women. She said her organization requested to National commission for women to support them for this petition and gain their rights.
In the letter they right to the NCW they said “We have found that women want a legal ban on the practice of oral/unilateral divorce. Our national study ‘Seeking Justice Within Family’ found that 92 percent of Muslim women want an end to this practice which destroys their life and the lives of their children. Coupled with oral divorce is the heinous practice of nikah halala which also must be abolished.”
